Everything You Need to Get Started
The Cottage Studio offers a practical collection of recording equipment, monitoring systems, microphones, instruments and amplifiers for use during your stay.
A Studio You Can Settle Into
- 500 sqft
- Upto 6 Players At A Time
The Cottage Studio provides a relaxed, practical environment for recording, tracking and mixing. With a dedicated control room, isolated drum recording and a broad selection of microphones, instruments and amplifiers, the space supports everything from individual performances to full-band sessions. Set beside Loch Fyne, it offers the privacy and focus needed to create without distraction.
Recording at The Cottage Studio is designed to be focused, flexible and uncomplicated.
Each residential day includes up to eight hours of recording, normally between 10am and 6pm. The studio day begins at 10am, or later where agreed, allowing the recording schedule to be shaped around the needs of the project.
The Recording Setup
At the centre of the studio is a Tascam 2400 analogue recording desk, connected by USB to an Apple MacBook Pro running Logic Pro.
During the agreed recording hours, Grace brings the computer into the studio, connects it to the desk, prepares the microphones and records the band according to the session plan.
The recording desk and the equipment shown on our Kit List page are available for use throughout the booked studio days.
Bands are also welcome to bring their own instruments or other suitable equipment. What will be supplied by the studio—and what the band intends to bring—will be discussed before arrival.
At the end of every stay we will supply new flash drive with all your songs and tracks loaded onto the drive.

Advance planning helps ensure the studio is ready and that the available recording time can be used effectively.
Grace is available from 10am to 6pm each booked day to run the recording session and provide technical assistance.
She will prepare the equipment, set up microphones, connect the recording system and record the agreed performances. The precise shape of the day can be discussed in advance and adjusted, where practical, as the project develops.
Additional recording outside the included eight hours may be possible at Grace’s discretion and is charged at £15 per hour.
The studio will provide:

We will provide a new flash drive new flash drive with your songs and tracks loaded on it at the end of the session.
The basic mixes are intended to provide a useful version of each song following the session. Any further editing, detailed mixing or mastering requirements should be discussed separately.
